Exhibition “Pile…faces & versions” (Heads… tails & versions) – Axum Cafe – april 29, 2017
HeadMade Factory takes over the Axum Café in Phillpsburg, an art-dedicated space on the Dutch part of the island. The place, run for a long time by the artist Ras Mosera, is being brought to light again by his son Ménélik Arnell, who regularly organizes events about the visual arts, the music, the arts and crafts and the culinary art of the island.
HeadMade Factory and Axum Café have decided to join forces to gather the energies around the development of the contemporary creation, and the awareness of Saint Martin’s heritage. For them, art is a place where artists express their connection to the world, their originality, where they analyze and contemplate the future of their society. Together, they believe that art and culture are catalysts for both the style and the content of Saint Martin’s economic and social development.
Together, they introduce the exhibition “PILE… FACE & VERSIONS” (Heads… Tails & versions) where you will find the new works of the founding artists of HMF: Florence POIRIER-NKPA, Cindy CHOISY and Laurent BAYLY.
The three artists have worked on a common theme in order to confront their approach and artistic research, create emulation and gather their energy around the promotion of the territory in which they live and evolve every day.
Florence POIRIER-NKPA will open this exhibition with her artistic approach on Thursday, April 27 at 6.30 p.m. at Axum Café.
The private viewing will take place on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at 7 p.m.
